Lieselot van Erven has been cardiologist at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) since 1998. She defended her PdD in 1992 and obtained IBHRE certification for Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices already in 1997 during her general Cardiology training. Since then, she has gained a vast experience in implantation of devices as well as in complex extraction procedures. She was the driving force behind several national ICD-related guidelines and the Dutch ICD decision aid. Currently, she is board member of the Netherlands Heart Rhythm Association and chairs the Device committee.
